Ok, so I'm looking at the guild vault today and thinking what a wreck it is. Don't know about you, but I hate having to sort through 5 tabs of stuff to find the one item that may or may not be in there. So I'm thinking that we need a change. So, being the awesome person I am, I pondered this while at work and think I've come up with a more structured plan to a) organize, b) arrange, and c) protect our vault items.
Feel free to agree or disagree and offer suggestions!
Basically, our guild vault has 5 tabs, each of which is divided into 5 sections. Working with this basic premise, I suggest that we separate items, and only save higher-end items (Outlands and Northrend).
Tab 1 We'll call this the farming tab. This would be the place for skinners, miners, and enchanters to leave items. This would also be the place to leave things like spider silks, things that are useful to crafters.
Tab 2 This is the crafter's tab. This is the place for blacksmiths, jewelcrafters, tailors, leatherworkers, and engineers to leave useful items such as spell threads, armor kits, cut gems, belt buckles, etc. Anything another class can USE to beef up their toon.
Tab 3 This would be kind of a continuation of tab 2, but for Inscriptions, scrolls of enchants, cooked food, and potions.
Tab 4 This tab would be slightly more guarded (ie, new members wouldn't have immediate access), a place to keep high demand items like cloth and rep items (if these still exist) as well as the cards for the darkmoon decks and BOE blues and purples.
Tab 5 This would leave tab 5 open for high value or rare items that we want to guard more closely. This tab should be locked to anyone who isn't guild council or up, although anyone may have an item from this tab with permission.

i agree with your idea same as i agreed with it when we tried last time. only problem is most people dont care and just stick stuff anywhere. if we can get it to work then great but i forsee it being a problem like it was last time. i have a suggestion for it, its gunna be more strict but i have seen it work for other guilds and it worked well. with hycinthe in the guild vile darkness i was able to see there vault and learn the way it worked. tab 1) general stuff that is able to be grabbed by anyone that has been a goonie for a lil bit basically soldier and above. tab 2) crafting items but only give a select few members access to it (ie guild council or a highly respected raider) they get unrestricted access and as the watcher of that tab only they can take stuff out and pass it out. the reason you give it to 2 or 3 people is so someone is almost always on. tab 3) a continuation of tab 2 but with 2 or 3 others as the gaurdians of it. tab 4) high end blues guild council only tab 5) high end purples and raid items ( ie pots, oils, etc)
i know this is more restricted and people will get pissed about it for a while but this will ensure nobody steals from us like they have done a few times before along with you have people who are personally responsible for what is in that tab and they can monitor who gets what and how many instead of people getting to take 5 things a day till the vault is empty. im sure most will not agree but i think that is my recomendation. people like to think that the guild vault is there own personal store and take anything and everything that they want which screws others. ( i know cuz i have been one screwed out of items from the gb before.) but if my idea is dismissed i full heartedly agree with our lil aussie. miss you tarm
